---------- History of changes and fixes made to Log-EQF Version 7 -----------
Version 7.0a released 01/08/95, thru 7.0y - BETA TEST
-----------------------------------------
Version 7.00 OFFICIAL RELEASE OF VERSION 7 April 2, 1995
------------------------------------------ -------------
- Fixed problem that would cause TNC to be "asleep" from XOFF handshake
signal when leaving EDIT to return to AUTO LOGGING.
- Added a display of "RIG UPDATE HOLD..." on logging screen, so that when
cursor is on MODE or FREQUENCY fields, you are reminded that the display
is not being updated from the rig interface.
- Cleaned-up DATE & TIME entry formats when the PREFERENCES option for
erasing the field with first character is selected.
- Print format for DETAILED output corrected so as not to exceed the max
number of lines on a 8-1/2" x 11" page for some printers. (One empty
line was removed from top of page).
Version 7.01 April 3, 1995
------------ -------------
Corrected QRZ! CD-ROM routine so if call is not in callbook, the lookup
doesn't take 5 minutes!
Version 7.02 April 11, 1995
------------ --------------
User's Guide revisions, and lockout of DXCC and WAS for non-registered
users.
Make callsign database lookup automatic from callsign entry as the
default selection. No change for users already configured.
Version 7.03 April 14, 1995
------------ --------------
Enable SHELL to work on floppy-only systems, if enough conventional
memory is available. Also added prompts for SHELL on floppy-only
systems for user to insert appropriate disks, for WAS and DXCC.
Corrected problem with prior QSO information not being pulled into the
name and QTH logbook fields, under certain conditions. This had to do
with callsign databases and various combinations of "PREFERENCES".
DX-EQF is now at Version 3.22, after a change to the way backups for
the DXCC.REC file is made. DX-EQF no longer relies on the backup file
to refresh the current file after a library change; the backup can
fail and still give appropriate results. Again, this was for the
benefit of floppy-based computers.
Version 7.04 April 18, 1995
------------ --------------
Put cursor back onto original logging field after doing an <Alt-K> to
run CW keyer.
Version 7.05 April 19, 1995
------------ --------------
Attempt to protect against certain NOTEPAD file errors.
Version 7.06 April 24, 1995
------------ --------------
Fix ERROR 52 problem that would occur when printing QSL labels using the
<F9> key during EDIT, and the MASTER.LOG database file was present.
Add logic to open COM port for CW keyer, so that users running the keyer
on a separate port, not one also shared with rig or TNC, can run CW in
Windows 3.1. Not sure if this will work with non-standard IRQ/Address
ports, but it was tested with COM1 & COM2 & standard setups.
Version 7.08 May 3, 1995
------------ -----------
Fixed capitalization rules (PREFERENCES setup menu) that were broken
by version 7.04. Capitalization for first letter of words now works
again if selected.
Corrected SEARCH and EDIT problems after a logbook temporary SORT.
Added support for the April '95 release of BuckMaster HAMCALL CD-ROM.
A TSR called BuckTSR must be loaded before Log-EQF, in order to
interface with it. If you name the TRACK field to be GRID, the grid
square will also be imported from HAMCALL.
Version 7.09 May 8, 1995
------------ -----------
Adjusted centering slightly for QSL label custom text line, on 1-across
label formats.
Removed automatic output of <Enter> after a macro line on the TERMINAL
screen. You need only add "<CR>" inside a macro wherever one is
desired, including the end of a line.
Fix problem with new BuckMaster CD-ROM lookup that would erroneously
print partial address for callsigns not found, when printing labels.
Version 7.10 May 12, 1995
------------ ------------
Changed logic on Main Menu for EDIT BY CALLSIGN, so that one less key-
stroke in most cases, for selection of EXACT vs. PARTIAL callsign match.
Added option to print multiple labels from logging screen, for
"personal" address labels (not from callsign database) using <Alt-L>.
Hit <F1> to print one label, or <F2> to print a series of labels (pgm
will prompt you for a number).
Version 7.11 May 17, 1995
------------ ------------
Changes for Yaesu FT-767 rig interface... it works!!! TNX and a tip
of the hat to KE9UR for his help via CompuServe.
Version 7.12 May 19, 1995
------------ ------------
Added the "hooks" for the Ten-Tec Omni V rig interface; this has NOT
been tested yet!
Made corrections to CW keyer so that cursor is shown while in keyboard
mode of operation, and eliminated problems exiting update of CW memories.
Version 7.13 May 29, 1995
------------ ------------
Change to improve memory usage during repeated edit operations.
Additional color combinations; with blue highlight the print on those
areas of screen is bright white, regardless of the "normal" print color.
Version 7.14 June 7, 1995
------------ ------------
Try to prevent "invisible" highlight bar on some menus.
Add new protection against bad notepad entries.
Update DXCC prefix library for new Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and
Kure Island callsigns.
Version 7.15 June 10, 1995
------------ -------------
Add support for Drake R8 receiver; not yet tested.
Add error number display on printer error window, to help reporting
printer problems on LAN's and other printer variations.
Add GRID import to log from callsign databases when in CONTEST operation
with a GRID multiplier.
Inhibit COUNTY import to log INFO field from callsign databases, unless
the INFO field is named to be "COUNTY" (on the load logbook screen).
Version 7.16 June 12, 1995
------------ -------------
Erase BORN date display before doing a callsign database lookup, so if
callsign is not found, a former call's date is not still displayed.
Enable auxiliary numeric keypad to work on the TNC terminal screen.
Version 7.17 June 14, 1995
------------ -------------
Fix bug I caused in V7.16, where some upper-case letters on TNC transmit
screen would trigger the scroll-back buffer.
Version 7.18 July 13, 1995
------------ -------------
Changed format of QSL labels, so that laser labels for 3-across wouldn't
truncate time's last two digits.
Moved Frequency and RST to left one character on 3.5 x 15/16" labels so
one more frequency digit would fit.
More changes for OMNI-V rig, after feedback from N2JV on results of V7.12.
DX-EQF Version 3.25 now permits you to keep multiple DXCC records, in
different directories.
WAS-EQF Version 1.12 also allows multiple WAS records now.
Improved BANDPLAN.DAT file now with much more detail, TNX to N3PXG.
Version 7.19 July 31, 1995
------------ -------------
Add "%U" parameter to insert your own callsign in CW keyer messages.
Add a prompt "(Y/N)?" before sending DX spot to the cluster.
Try to guard against CW port keying rig while program is loading.
Slight timing adjustment for rig update rates - certain models
exhibiting erratic updates - comments please!
Version 7.20 August 7, 1995
------------ --------------
Made some changes in code for manual date and time entry to protect
against errors.
Version 7.21 August 17, 1995
------------ ---------------
Flush COM buffer for radio interface before issuing a new command to
retrieve frequency and mode from the rig, when leaving the TNC screen
and before "waking up" a rig after configuration changes.
Version 7.22 August 20, 1995
------------ ---------------
Change to rig frequency and mode retrieval routine in to eliminate
some ERROR 5-1 problems with certain Yaesu rigs.
Version 7.23 August 22, 1995
------------ ---------------
Corrected QRZ! CD-ROM lookup routine for ERROR 5 on some DX calls, and
improve speed of lookup in the process.
Version 7.24 August 26, 1995
------------ ---------------
Minor change in printer error checking routine.
Added protection against entering a logbook name with embedded spaces.
WAS-EQF Version 1.14 (August 31, 1995) Fixed minor bug that caused home
directory to be used for WAS.REC records until resetting path each time
the program was restarted.
Version 7.25 September 11, 1995
------------ ------------------
Stripped trailing spaces away from CW Keyer memories.
DX-EQF Version 3.27 and WAS-EQF Version 1.15 now have some help text on
the edit screen.
DXCC and WAS can now be accessed from Log-EQF's logging screen with
<Alt-X> and <Alt-W>, even if no COUNTRY or STATE is entered on the screen.
These utilities will come up in "full screen" mode under these conditions.
Version 7.26 September 12, 1995
------------ ------------------
Inhibit DUPE CHECKING (contest or normal mode) whenever the <Scroll Lock>
key is on.
Version 7.27 September 18, 1995
------------ ------------------
Due to popular demand, use grid locator for beam heading if it's available.
This is enabled by naming the TRACK field to be called GRID. Enter a grid
square and the beam heading and distance from your QTH (lat/long) to that
grid is calculated. If you use the April 95 (or later) release of the
BuckMaster CD-ROM, the grid square will be pulled into the logbook GRID
field automatically.
Added a new QSL label size; Metric 63.5mm x 38.1mm; 3-across (Avery J8160).
Version 7.28 September 25, 1995
------------ ------------------
BuckMaster HAMCALL has changed their INTERRUPT from FAh to 66h, using
BUCKTSR v1.0. Changed Log-EQF to run with BuckMaster's new software.
Minor change for the OMNI-V rig... getting closer TNX to user feedback.
Prevent CW KEYER keyboard buffer from clearing when a functio key is hit.
